I buy this and i feel its little heavy . I have induction stove and i feel that at the center it too hot , i can also see some very minor lines in the center after 2 to 4 use.

I have a set of Le Creuset in meringue, but I needed a larger braising pan for meal prep and bigger dishes. I spotted one of these in a shop, but they didn’t have any in the color I was after, so I came looking online and found it! Side by side, this is a PERFECT match for the “meringue” color. The only giveaway is the knob on the lid. This thing is massive and definitely requires two hands when handling, but it’s already been such a game changer. I was ambitious for the first use and seared two whole branzinos— they were a little big, but boy, were they good. This isn’t normally how I break in a pan, and honestly, I didn’t use enough oil for it being the first use. By the second use (a veggie curry with leeks, mushrooms, etc), it already showed signs of improvement. This pan is going to prime quickly, and it’s meant to be used often! The price for this level of quality still blows my mind.

This is a beautiful braiser. The sidewalls are sloped nicely, which I prefer to the curved style. I would have given 5 stars, but the lid has chipped at a rib on the lid (see image). I handle cast iron, especially ceramic cookware, with great care and have not had this issue on a new product…until now. I hope it’s not a sign of things to come.

I have another Tramontina braiser that I bought at Costco at a quarter the price, which I use all the time, and have never had an issue. I ordered this mainly to have a pretty one to keep on my stovetop, and continue to use the teal Costco model, again, no issues. It sat, unused, on the stovetop until yesterday. We were having guests for brunch, so I wanted to use it for cinnamon, which would be on the table. It looks beautiful. I baked the rolls in in the bottom half, the top half simply sat on the counter, and was put on to use as a cover for the leftover rolls. It was never heated, the bottom had been fully cooled for hours when I replaced it. And the edge of the lid chipped! I guess from now on it will sit with the back of the lid to the wall, but I’m sorry I paid so much for something that isn’t up to the quality of my other Tramontina cookware.

As enameled cast iron brasiers and Dutch Ovens go, this one is as well made as those manufactured in Europe buts costs less than half as much as the French alternatives. It ships well protected, arrives without chips in the enamel and cooks on par with Le Crueset or Staub units of similar shape and volume. Like others in the class, it is quite heavy, which is a good thing from a heat retention perspective, but not as good if you have a difficult time managing very heavy, hot, full pots and pans.

I truly enjoy using this braiser. The handles are not too big and easy use. I have a gas stove and once heated it cooks very evenly.

It chips waaayyy to easily. Enamel is thin. Don’t buy unless it’s decorative or will never be near other dishes or utensils.

  8. Yepit’sme

This Dutch pan was perfect! It doesn’t leave our stove top that’s how often we use it. Looks just like it did since we got it.

  9. Frank Filippini

This was a gift from my wonderful boyfriend and I love it. It’s easily as good as a Le Creuset and made well. It’s a bit heavy to clean but does clean up easily. Cooks evenly (big plus) and a good size for making stews, sauces and meat dishes. Also liked the white color for a change!
