Great socket set !! Has all the sizes you’d most likely need. But why is the case so big !?!?
Would be that much more useful if the case wasn’t so huge.

Set de dados de calidad, el estuche es bastante resistente

  3. Amazon Customer

Bought this because the cheap set you see couldn’t deliver torque needed to unscrew boot on car door. Against the cheaper set, the sockets have much thicker walls. Both metric and SAE sizes makes this convenient. Box is large but beautiful. Didn’t think tools could make me smile!

1/4″ Drive socket set with a bunch of sockets. Nothing special about them but they get the job done. The tolerance on the sockets are fine, never any slipping and they haven’t had any issues with stripping. The ratcheting mechanism is pretty standard with the push button and wing arm on the back. Hasn’t failed yet.

My issue is with the case. It is 3 times the size it needs to be. It also has a ton of clasps, which is both good and bad. Good because if you’re lugging this around, it’s less likely to pop open. Bad because every single time I go to open it I miss a clasp or two and it drives me crazy. Lastly, the top plastic is fragile. Mine hasn’t completely shattered yet but it’s riddled with cracks and it really hasn’t taken much of a beating. I use another socket set now most of the time just because of this case.

All in all, the set is great, the case is not. It’s definitely a good option, especially if you don’t use the tools that often or move the case around too much, or if you have alternate tool storage.

I do believe it will hold the 600 pounds it promises.
However I miss the 5 in plastic children’s store that I used to get in a bed with. But I was too heavy for the baby’s plastic stool.
Probably be the last story you had to buy it is very durable.

  6. Bearcat Chris

Great carrying case that actually will not come open. Tools are high quality. Good value.

  7. Jonathan

The media could not be loaded.

Everyone complains about the wasted space in the case… Makes a great beyblade battle arena! (Updated to add video, you need to get it slightly out of level for better battles.. and makes a great case too)

The 1/4 driver is really heavy, has sloppy/wide stroke, and is slippery in my hands. So, the set is not that great. Not hft potburg bad, but not something that I’d carry. Good extra set for the shop or for the kids. The driver length is something that I would be careful with as you can easily overtorque with it.

This is a great set! Regardless of price, that’s just an added benefit. I love Dewalts thicker handles (i already had the 3/8 and 1/2 inch drive sets) on the rachet, gives comfort for all day use. Especially on cold days when the arthritis is acting up, you don’t have to close your hand as thightly. This also helps when you have to really torque down on a bolt to break it free (something you’re not really doing with a 1/4in drive, I know). Gear tooth is great, and tight grabs with very little movement, so it’s great in tight places. Although i haven’t put my mic or calipers on the sockets, just visually and feel in the hand they are thicker than most sets. I don’t hesitate to put them on an impact (we all do it) even though they aren’t impact grade. That’s not to say I’d feel comfortable with a really stubborn/rusty nut.
I really like the storage tray that comes with the case. It is a bit bulky, but works great for initially getting it into your box (in fact I’m still using it) without the added expense of another socket organizer. I only wish my 3/8 and 1/2 came with them (they do now, I bought those sets a few years ago, before that feature.)
I’ve broken free nuts at work with my 3/8in drive that had just made my coworkers 1/2in drive Huskey and later Kobalt rachets “explode” apart.
Are they as good as an American made “truck” brand (ie. Snap-on, Matco, Mac, Cornwell…etc..)? Honestly, I don’t know. I do like (and have had other coworkers jealous) the feel of the rachets, and at 1/5 of the cost of those truck brands they are worth a shot.
As far as other “cheap” tawain made brands, Dewalt can’t be beat (in my opinion) the cost, the quality, the storage tray options…..just great!

I’m a Fabricator/Welder. Admittedly I don’t have a wrech/rachet in my hand all day, like a mechanic does. But for as often as i do, these do MORE, than just fine!

Ps. I’m adding a review a qucik review of the wrenchs as well (again already had those along with the 1/2in and 3/8in drive rachet sets.) The wrenchs work as wrenchs do, the thing I really like about the Dewalts is that they are a bit longer than normal, giving that added torque. My 10mm wrench (which 9 times out of ten the wrench that’s in my hand, when I have a wrench in my hand) is the length of most 13mm wrenchs. All of the wrenchs are longer than norm, that can be a bit of a problem in tight spaces, but 90% of the time it’s just added comfort and torque.

I honestly don’t have any bad things to say about Dewalt brand hand tools.
For someone who isn’t a professional mechanic, or someone just starting out in the trade, to get a full set of 1/4in 3/8in 1/2in drive rachet sets wrenchs both standard and metric for under $500! Even if you later, upgrade to “truck” brands, Dewalt wouldn’t be a wasted investment.

Só um porém pelo tamanho da caixa, é muito grande para poucos itens. Pelo o que vi esta mesma caixa é utilizada em vários outros conjuntos da DeWalt

So where to begin about this set, firstly I love the set and and their performance for what I do with them. Dewalt can easily put this set in a smaller case to save room in your tool box or wherever you store your tools so that’s not something I’ll deduct stars from just a potential idea for the company itself. It is portable and will lock onto other dewalt cases such as this one so that’s cool in saving room do to ability to be stacked, just don’t expect it to take little rooom but a lo. I’d say it’s worth the money so don’t hesitate on buying it of course the

This kit is beautiful. The problem is that when EDIT
Amazon sent me a free replacement and I didn’t have to send the defective set back. The ratchet in this set works properly. 5/5!!

the ratchet is ratcheting, there is an extremely tight spot where the gears won’t slip, roughly every quarter turn. It’s so tight that I can’t even ratchet it by hand without a socket attached.

I know Dewalt and I know their tools are top notch. Therefore, this ratchet is defective and I would like to be sent a replacement ASAP!

  13. Vicker

Why is the case so big? Great tools, fantastic socket wrench, but they could have made the case 1/3 the size, and still had extra room. Would have made it easier to travel with the set
