I wouldn’t recommend this IF you don’t already have dewalt tools and batteries. That being said, if you already have even the smallest of batteries, I was able to vacuum my F150 crew cab 3 times on one charge of a regular drill battery. The suction isn’t as good as a 120V shop vac, but for the price you cant go wrong at all! It is definitely sufficient for day to day use, be it at home or on the job site.
I use this a lot for work, as I install attic insulation. When doing retrofits in lived in houses, this thing is great for sucking up excess messes around the hatch and I have yet to fill it with dirt. The wide mouth attachment doesn’t like to stay attached to the vacuum, but aside from that it still works really well. Super lightweight and doesnt take up a lot of space. It is a tad loud, but for crying out loud-its a shop vac. For the price as well, you cannot go wrong!
This is especially handy for around the house stuff- I had to drill a hole in my floor for running a cable through, and just used my drill while having this run and it worked like a charm.

Bought it for the wife to use as a lightweight vacuum to use around the house so she doesn’t have to drag around the regular vacuum cleaner when using it just for small quick jobs, like corners of the carpet or crumbs and debris in edges around walls or around the bed. Battery lasts quite a long time, I was surprised. I have used 4mah and 6mah batteries and they last over an hour with this unit. Suction power is really good, don’t expect it to suck and pickup like a full sized Hoover, but for what it was designed for, works really, really well.

Very good hover also picks up water from cisterns, heavier battery makes no difference to the performance, just makes it last longer, very easy to clean

This vacuum is so nice to have for quick clean ups and various projects. Not having to worry about a cord is such a good feeling. It’s quick and easy to use and great for little jobs when you don’t want to pull out the big shop vac.

Don’t get the plug in one, it costs more and I have never needed to plug this in. This one is perfect and it’s all you need
Surprisingly great sucking power. Obviously not as good as a plug in canister but it gets the job done.

Many reviews have said this portable vacuum does not have the strongest suction. I agree. However, it does more than an adequate job and is quiet. Even when running it in a closet or pantry, I do not have to have hearing protection on. Most, if not all, vacuums with more suction are also much louder. This vacuum reaches a good middle ground.
Some other reviews have noted that when trying to empty the case, the curled lip does not allow it to be emptied completely. Yes, but so what (in my opinion)? You can get almost all of the junk out, so I really don’t care that it is spotless inside after emptying.
I am already invested in Dewalt 20V batteries, so I chose this one. I would do it again. If I was not invested in Dewalt batteries, I would at least look at other options. However, it is hard to find the decibel ratings for these portable vacuums. My hearing is important to me and I am done with having to put up with the high whine of portable vacs or shop vacs. I also have the Dewalt DXV09P-QTA shop vac (corded), and it is a joy to use because it is so quiet and does a great job.

I mainly use this around my garage; typically to clean out my vehicles. Its awesome! Great power, small enough to get in and out of small spaces (like a Mazda Miata) and light weight. Would recommend. Would buy again.

Not very powerful, batteries don’t last long, but this thing is awesome. So convenient to bring to a vehicle and quickly vacuum the leaves and gunk from vehicle cowls. I use this all the time. With 6ah batteries it goes plenty.

i had an older shop handheld vac with a worn battery, and lamented for quite a while what i wanted to replace it with. so glad i chose this one. it is larger than previous handheld, a little bulkier, but the bucket is much larger, the suction is stronger, i get two attachments, and it uses my standard dewalt batteries; also is relatively lightweight empty. my wife said ‘what are you buying another vac for?’ (have larger electric shop vac and diminished handheld) Once i brought it out to de-pollinate our screened in porch, and she used it extensively on all the upholstery, she is now singing its praises! very good upgrade from the handheld units, and great/easy to get to for around the shop and home projects – dont have to drag the bulky electric one with large hose around. and i have 3 high power batteries that fit if i use it that long.
