Its a great laptop overall, but planning on returning it since it doesn’t fit my needs such as the fan makes noise and keeps blowing

This laptop is exactly what I wanted. Battery life during intensive gaming is non-existent which should be a no brainer as with any other gaming laptop. So you should be plugged into an outlet considering you are spending hours on it. When I’m using it for anything else like Adobe CC, I run it in balanced mode. Fans are a little loud during gaming, but I am not surprised.

I bought the 2019 version since I could afford the 32GB. I don’t think I would’ve seen that much of a difference if I went elsewhere and got the 2020 version anyhow. This laptop was worth every penny,

    Pros:
    – Very fast mid-gaming laptop
    – 32GB RAM
    – The lit up keys make me able to see in my cave-like apt.
    – Respectable 6-core Intel cpu
    – Excellent (and very popular) mid-level gaming video card
    – Can run Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign all at the same time
    – Sturdy construction

    Cons:
    – The USB slots are all on the left. I wished they were on the right side of the chassis and a bit spaced out
    – Armoury Crate program (to update asus drivers, maintain profile settings etc) is somewhat buggy. You have to upgrade it as soon as you take the laptop out of the box which was a pain since it kept freezing up and not initially updating. I ended up having to just delete it and then download a fresh install from ASUS’ site
    – Battery life during intensive gaming.

You won’t be disappointed with this laptop overall. I highly recommend it. I believe I paid $1120 at the time I bought it in June of this year.

ASUS Bloat ware makes this an unacceptably slow start up and whatever monitoring systems operating in the background constantly cause hick-ups while running other programs. Bought this to replace an older (10Yr) ASUS Laptop that’s age was giving me concern – but have returned to the older machine because it executed faster and without strange pauses that plagued the newer machine. This model is now a door stop until my older machine dies.

Pretty much what it claimed to be by most accounts. Only slightly disappointed in the speed considering I made a huge jump from my previous laptop in terms of RAM & a dedicated Nvidia graphics card.

Good so far. I only play a couple games that aren’t too demanding but runs them all smooth as butter.
