I wasn’t expecting too much with this router. But am pleasantly surprised how well it’s working. I purchased this to do some “slab” flattening. I’ve done a few projects now and it’s worked perfectly. Yes the base and parts are stamped metal and not machined to a smooth finish in some areas. But over all has worked flawless. I would guess I have 10hrs run time on the router.

My expectation of this router was equally as impressive. The build quality is amazing! It is a heavier router but for may jobs that is what you need.
The included edge guide is often an “extra” cost with other brands. The included case is amazing and fits the router perfectly!

Carrying case is large but it contains most everything you need. The unit is well constructed, motor robust, slow start works great. The plunge mechanism is a bit stiff and the lock feels random, not positive and doesn’t feel like it will last very long but only time will tell.
The step plunge mechanism seems to be out of alignment since the detents do not line up with the stop bar, catching on the corner and the micro adjustment is completely random though calibrated with no alignment indicator.
The 1/4 inch collet requires that you remove the 1/2 in collet, insert it into the 1/2 in collet then reassemble them together then they stick when trying to take them apart. Without a flat on the top of the router changing bits requires three hands and I only have two so it’s sloppy at best.

Years ago I bought some Wen tools, and was not overly impressed. Well, that was then. This plunge router is exceptional. The power and capabilities are equivalent to Bosh , Dewalt and other big names. It also comes with edge guides, etc. I find the required down thrust takes a little more pressure than I would like, but overall it is an excellent investment at a great price.

The only minor gripe I have is that the power cord could be a bit longer for better maneuverability, but that’s easily fixed with an extension cord.
