Bought this nail gun for my husband. Amazing piece of kit. Works fine with all Dewalt 18 voltage batteries

Having been connected to air my whole life its so nice to not have to charge up the compressor to use a nail gun. This unit is very versitle. It’s not to heavy but heavier than a similar sized air nailer when the battery is on. The nicest thing is the size of the hole is leaves is almost invisible. The only con I have is the safty. You can shoot this gun without having to push a safy on the tip. There is a trigger safty. But no tip safty. This could be a pro and a con. My air nailer will leave a undent on soft wood. This nailer dont do that. Other wise its a great little nailer and i already have a ton of dewalt batteries.

This pin nailer might be the most useful tool in my shop. You’d be surprised how many binds it gets you out of. Worth the price tag, just get it already!

I have an air pin nailer that is now gathering dust. This is easier to set, and works great on 2ah batteries (lighter). Overall very happy with the purchase.

It’s very easy to use, convenient, and simplifies many building or fine woodworking projects.

Compact and well balanced. Tool functions well as expected with one adjustment required. There’s a delay when pulling the trigger. Very odd at first but becomes a non-issue with some use. Larger than pneumatic pinner but reasonable especially with lighter low amp-hour batteries.

I was finally able to start the project that I bought this nailer for. As with my other dewalt purchases, I am super pleased.
Excellent quality in the tool, not too heavy, easy to handle.
The switch requires 2 fingers to produce the nail, which I appreciate. There is an indicator light to show that the tool needs more nails. A built in light illuminates the area where the nail is going.
I used 1.5″ 23 GA pin nails and there was not a single jam, nothing bent, works like it should. Happy with my purchase.

Pin nailers are magic. Put any two pieces of wood together and you can invisibly attach them, instantly, in a way that does not move their position relative to each other. This enables endless kinds of building that really can’t be done well another way.
My first project was a “floating” frame for some artwork. I have no idea how I would have done this without the pin nailer, but with it, it came out perfectly.
Second project was replacing old, beat-up, 30-year-old plastic parts boxes with 50 new ones I made from pine. Photo shows the project roughly 1/3 done. This could be done with hand-driven finish nails, but would be much, much slower and not nearly as much fun! To see the impression the driven nails make, look closely at the faces of the pine boxes.
Although these nails are very thin, the grip the wood like iron and are nearly impossible to pull out. I think its because they have a plastic coating that heats up when they are driven, and grips the nail tightly.
One note: my local hardware store stocks only Metabo pin nails. These immediately jammed the DeWalt. What I’ve found is that DeWalt and Bostitch brands are the kind to buy.
