I have a lot of arthritis in both my legs. Any walking or standing, for even short periods of time, causes quite a bit of pain and swelling in my joints. When I know I’m going to be up on my legs for a while, I try to wear shoes that give me shock absorption and support. Since Keen shoes are known for people who are on their feet all day, I thought I would give them a try.

These don’t look too “industrial”, although the toe box is wider than I normally wear. That wider toe box does make them more comfortable for me. I don’t have a particularly wide foot and ordered the medium width. These fit as I expected. I usually wear an orthotic in my shoes, so I order ½ size up to accommodate it. That’s how I ordered these, although I haven’t been having to wear the orthotic in them. They may be a bit large, but not anything I really notice. They have their own insert that is removable like you see with many athletic shoes. They are easy for me to get off and on.

My joints are liking these shoes. They are giving me the extra shock absorption and support that I need. I was a bit worried they might be too heavy with the steel toe reinforcement, but I haven’t found that to be the case. While heavier than other shoes I have, they feel lighter than my running shoes. They certainly aren’t heavier than those shoes.

The main issue I have with these shoes is the tongue area digs into the front of my foot, particularly when I’m sitting down.

Overall, I’m happy with these shoes. They are sturdy and I should get a good life span from them.

Keen has done it again. These are light weight and have a nice roomy toe box.

Shoes look good and are breathable for summer wear but are uncomfortable, there is almost no cushion. I usually love Keen shoes but these appear to be cheaply made, there is plastic where the top of the shoe meets the safety toe that clicks when you walk, sounds like I’m wearing flip/flops; As one of very few women that go between jobs sites and the office it is very off putting. This purchase is a loss for me, these will go in the trash and I will go looking for proper boots.

Great support. Great comfort for a 9 hour shift on your feet

KEEN makes GREAT shoes – have had nothing but good experiences with them. Generally I wear their hiking shoes though…this is my first time wearing a utility type of shoe of theirs. Here are some pros and cons:

    PROS:

The toe box reinforcement is HARD. If you kick someone with these shoes on (hopefully it’s an accident if you do LOL) you WILL HURT THEM. That is some serious steel toe reinforcement.

Because of the above point, they make a great work shoe AND also a hiking low top, because there’s no way you are stubbing your toe on a boulder or a branch with these on. You could wear these as every day shoes too…especially if you are clumsy and stub your toe often LOL

    They slip on very easily.

Cool design with nice accent colors.

    They are VERY comfortable.

They are KEENs. They will last forever and so will the soles – same patented grip etc that all KEENs have is here on these too.

    CONS:

The shoes are heavier than the typical KEEN shoe but that’s surely because of the toe reinforcement. You do NOT notice or feel it while you are wearing them, but you definitely do when you take them off or put them on. I did not take off a star for this because it’s sort of a given that a steel toe shoe will be heavier than one that is not…but mentioning it because this might be an issue for some people.

All in all, these are a solid (pun intended) pair of shoes that are nice looking, versatile, and high quality, Would recommend!

I had worn these shoes less than 3 hours at the time I took the pictures. The materials are falling apart. The soles are coming off. I will be returning these. They fit fine and are comfortable enough but I can’t believe how quickly they are falling apart.

  7. Nicole Tortelli

These run too narrow for someone with a non-standard women’s foot width. My toes felt squished together and the fit felt way too tight. This is also coming off an eight hour shift when i tried them on. I recommender going a size up if you need a wide width in this style. Will be returning.

I just realized the return window closed yesterday. These shoes are too large. I have not worn them. Is there any way I can still return them?
